Elwe Materiel

The "Léon Weidig Establishment", a Luxembourg company founded in 1948 by Mr. Léon Weidig, became ELWE in 1948.
At the end of the war, after several attempts to sell toys and magazines, ELWE began to distribute excavator shovels of English and German brands to meet the needs of the mining and construction sectors in Luxembourg. ELWE then diversified into various activities such as the sale of formwork equipment, the distribution of POTAIN cranes and construction machines of major brands such as JCB, Mitsubishi, KALMAR or Putzmeister.

When it started, ELWE was located on route d'Esch, in Luxembourg. In 1978, the company decided to set up rue John L. Macadam in Luxembourg, at the IRRGARTEN roundabout and a few steps from the A1 motorway connecting Germany, France and Belgium.

In July 2017, ELWE joined the COLVEMAT network, within the Europe Holding Group, whose Mother House is located in Dudelange.
