{"id":9747,"date":"2017-01-14T16:23:49","date_gmt":"2017-01-14T16:23:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/minutes.machine.market\/?p=9747"},"modified":"2017-01-14T16:23:49","modified_gmt":"2017-01-14T16:23:49","slug":"80-feet-below-shots-from-the-1-578-billion-central-subway-subterranean-construction-in-san-francisco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/80-feet-below-shots-from-the-1-578-billion-central-subway-subterranean-construction-in-san-francisco\/","title":{"rendered":"80 Feet Below: Shots from the $1.578 billion Central Subway Subterranean Construction in San Francisco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Deep underneath the streets of San Francisco, workers have been busy constructing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centralsubwaysf.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Central Subway<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The $1.578 billion project will extend Muni&#8217;s T-Third metro line, providing a 1.7-mile direct transit link between the Bayshore\/Mission Bay neighborhoods and SoMa, downtown, and Chinatown.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to a street-level station at 4th and Brannan, three subterranean subway stations are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centralsubwaysf.com\/content\/project-overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">currently under construction<\/a>: the future Yerba Buena\/Moscone, Union Square\/Market Street, and Chinatown stations.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Subway is expected to open to the public in 2019.
