{"id":7958,"date":"2016-10-26T13:05:52","date_gmt":"2016-10-26T13:05:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/minutes.machine.market\/?p=7958"},"modified":"2016-10-26T13:05:52","modified_gmt":"2016-10-26T13:05:52","slug":"end-of-the-line-for-canadian-industrial-forklift-manufacturer-omega-lift","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/end-of-the-line-for-canadian-industrial-forklift-manufacturer-omega-lift\/","title":{"rendered":"End of the line for Canadian Industrial Forklift Manufacturer Omega Lift"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The assets of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.omegalift.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Omega Lift<\/a> have been sold to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hilcoind.com\/sale\/omegalift\/featured\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hilco Industrial Acquisitions Canada<\/a> for an undisclosed sum and auctioned off. \u00a0The auction included dozens of forklifts of various makes, tools and equipment and Omega Lift\u2019s parts inventory.<\/p>\n<p>Toronto insolvency firm KSV Advisory has released its final report on the liquidation of the Canadian forklift manufacturer which\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.forkliftaction.com\/news\/statlink.asp?statlinkid=26652\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ceased operations in July<\/a>, owing more than CAD$10.8 million to secured creditors.<\/p>\n<p>The purchase price for the assets, not including Omega Lift\u2019s intellectual property and designs, has been redacted from the report.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed KSV Advisory intends selling the intellectual property separately.<\/p>\n<p>The receiver expects to vacate the Bolton site by the end of October.<\/p>\n<p>The bad news for customers who have paid for goods not received and for suppliers awaiting payments is that &#8220;the receiver does not contemplate any recoveries for unsecured creditors&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not clear how much of Omega Lift\u2019s debt has been recovered for secure creditors, but the 298-page report does reveal KSV Advisory\u2019s CAD133,670 fee and a further CAD45,288 billed by law firm Aird &amp; Berlis.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forkliftaction.com\/news\/newsdisplay.aspx?nwid=18111\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><i>Forkliftaction News<\/i>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The assets of Omega Lift have been sold to Hilco Industrial Acquisitions Canada for an undisclosed sum and auctioned off. \u00a0The auction included dozens of forklifts of various makes, tools and equipment and Omega Lift\u2019s parts inventory.
