{"id":7423,"date":"2016-10-05T14:50:17","date_gmt":"2016-10-05T14:50:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/minutes.machine.market\/?p=7423"},"modified":"2016-10-05T14:50:17","modified_gmt":"2016-10-05T14:50:17","slug":"double-crane-order-grants-mechan-allerton-hatrick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/double-crane-order-grants-mechan-allerton-hatrick\/","title":{"rendered":"Mechan supplies new jib cranes for Northern Rail in UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three cranes built by Sheffield, UK-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mechan.co.uk\/cranes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mechan<\/a>\u00a0are standing at Northern Rail\u2019s depot in Liverpool, following a \u00a323 million project to increase its capacity.<\/p>\n<p>The heavy lifting specialist has built two bespoke jib cranes for Northern Rail, to work alongside an existing unit that is used to remove train engines.<\/p>\n<p>At the request of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.buckinghamgroup.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Buckingham Group\u00a0Contracting<\/a>, the main contractor overseeing the refurbishment, Mechan has supplied a 12.5 tonne <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mechan.co.uk\/cranes\/powerman-jib-cranes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Powerman jib crane<\/a> to work outside the depot, handling bogies off incoming transport and onto the rail line. A smaller 250 kilo <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mechan.co.uk\/cranes\/miniman-jib-cranes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miniman jib crane<\/a> was also specified to work inside, removing pantographs from the roofs of electric vehicles.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Lindsey Mills, Mechan\u2019s key account manager, said: \u201cWe have worked with the Buckingham Group at various sites and its team know our products will be delivered on time and on budget. Allerton has been using one of our cranes for some years, so it is an excellent endorsement of its build quality that the addition of another two products has been welcomed so warmly by Northern Rail.
