To minimize the time spent in dock, 12 of these were prefabricated prior to the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jumbomaritime.nl\/en\/offshore\/offshore-fleet\/jumbo-javelin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jumbo Javelin<\/a><\/em> arriving at Van Brink, and the remaining three were built during the docking period. The majority of the steel work was performed by Damen Group company and steel specialist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nironstaal.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Niron Staal Amsterdam<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WitqUjFG1I4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Additional works included a modification to an existing tweendeck to make it more suitable for its purpose, and the repair and repositioning of the exhaust pipe stack. The lifeboats also underwent routine maintenance. The works were completed in the time originally specified in the quotation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7359\" src=\"https:\/\/cranemarket.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/DP2-Heavy-Lift-Crane-Vessel-repair-at-Damen.png\" alt=\"DP2-Heavy-Lift-Crane-Vessel-repair-at-Damen\" width=\"470\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/DP2-Heavy-Lift-Crane-Vessel-repair-at-Damen.png 470w, https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/DP2-Heavy-Lift-Crane-Vessel-repair-at-Damen-300x191.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 470px) 100vw, 470px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The 145m vessel was built at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.damen.com\/en\/companies\/damen-shipyards-galati\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Damen Shipyards Galati<\/a> in 2004, along with three similar vessels for the same owner. Together, the <em>Jumbo Javelin<\/em>, <em>Fairplayer<\/em>,<em>Fairpartner<\/em> and <em>Jumbo Jubilee <\/em>make up the Jumbo J-Class fleet. As well as general heavy-lifting assignments \u2013 the <em>Javelin <\/em>recently transported two, large accommodation modules from Croatia to Cameroon \u2013 the four ships are active in offshore O&amp;G and wind projects, including installing transition pieces for wind turbines. The <em>Jumbo Javelin<\/em> previously spent 50 days in 2014 at Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam for repairs and her second special survey.<\/p>\n<p>Jeroen van Kralingen, Superintendent at Jumbo, commented: \u201cThe project was an unexpected repair. Damen Shiprepair Van Brink Rotterdam was a convenient location given the position of the ship at the time, and they offered a good price. We have worked with Damen Shiprepair before, but this was our first time at Van Brink.
