The Uruguayan port operator Somasol S.A. (Somasol) has ordered the machine for the terminal in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fray_Bentos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fray Bentos<\/a>.\u00a0The machine will be manufactured and assembled by the Chinese site of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.terex.com\/port-solutions\/en\/about-us\/locations\/xiamen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">TPS in Xiamen<\/a> and is due to be shipped to Uruguay by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=H4-17n1bp_E<\/p>\n<p><strong>Efficient machine for flexible operation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Quaymate M50 with a maximum lifting capacity of 50 t, an outreach of up to 36\u00a0m (118 ft) and a maximum hoist speed of 50 m\/min (164 ft) will operate in Uruguay\u2019s agricultural and cattle raising area. The machine will mainly handle citrus fruit, grain and round timber and help to increase the handling volume further. The diesel-electric two-rope mobile harbour crane offers a high degree of mobility and can be moved on the dock of 200 m in length.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crane fulfils requirements of different Latin-American terminals<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Maurizio Altieri, Vice President Sales &amp; Service TPS Asia said \u201cThe machine was developed by international engineering teams. Based on the proven Terex Gottwald design philosophy, it fulfils the requirements of different terminals in many Latin American countries. With the Quaymate M50, small terminals can replace non-port machines such as excavators or telescopic and conventional mobile cranes, make their cargo handling more cost-effective and develop new applications. Established terminal operators can supplement their existing fleet in a dedicated manner.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u2018Genuine\u2019 mobile harbour crane with functional construction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Quaymate M50 is designed as a \u2018genuine\u2019 mobile harbour crane for continuous operation and therefore for a sufficient number of load cycles. It is easy to maneuver and position alongside the vessel. It has a cab positioned high on the tower for a good view of the entire working area.
