{"id":6596,"date":"2016-09-09T16:06:37","date_gmt":"2016-09-09T16:06:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/minutes.machine.market\/?p=6596"},"modified":"2016-09-09T16:06:37","modified_gmt":"2016-09-09T16:06:37","slug":"ainscough-crane-hire-provides-a-liebherr-ltm-1055-3-2-for-queensferry-crossing-in-scotland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/ainscough-crane-hire-provides-a-liebherr-ltm-1055-3-2-for-queensferry-crossing-in-scotland\/","title":{"rendered":"Ainscough Crane Hire is providing between 4-6 cranes daily for Queensferry  Crossing in Scotland"},"content":{"rendered":"<article id=\"post-13486\" class=\"post-13486 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-property-asset-management tag-ainscough-crane-hire tag-queensferry-crossing\">\n<div class=\"gdlr-standard-style\">\n<div class=\"blog-content-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"gdlr-blog-content\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ainscough.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ainscough Crane Hire<\/a>\u00a0has provided lift support for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forth-bridges.co.uk\/queensferry-crossing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Queensferry Crossing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Sk7BM_1dSrg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>From its Falkirk depot, the Ainscough Crane Hire team has been helping to deliver the new Queensferry Crossing for Transport Scotland for the last three and a half years.<\/p>\n<p>Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors (FCBC) is the main contractor for the scheme in a joint venture with Dragados, American Bridge, HOCHTIEF and Morrison Construction.<\/p>\n<p>The new bridge is set to open next year and will form the centrepiece of an upgrade to the important cross-Forth transport corridor.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme was established after corroded cables on the existing Forth Road Bridge put the bridge\u2019s future into doubt.<\/p>\n<p>The Queensferry Crossing will measure 2,637 metres in length and will be the second longest three tower cable stayed bridge in the world.<\/p>\n<p>The towers are 650m apart, with 146m of cable crossover, designed to stop the central tower swaying.<\/p>\n<p>Ainscough\u2019s crane fleet has operated on site from the early stages of its construction. Most recently, Ainscough\u2019s team has been working on the emerging road deck of the bridge.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme has brought with it various challenges including how to position a crane on the roadway, which is yet to be connected to the land.<\/p>\n<p>The solution to this was to lift a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liebherr.com\/en\/afg\/products\/mobile-and-crawler-cranes\/mobile-cranes\/ltm-mobile-cranes\/details\/ltm105532.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Liebherr LTM 1055-3.2<\/a>, 55t all terrain crane onto a completed section of roadway using the tower crane connected to one the bridge\u2019s 207m (679 ft) high towers.<\/p>\n<p>Having been stripped of its components that were not essential and positioned beneath the tower crane aboard a service barge, the crane was lifted into position and subsequently re-assembled for use in the bridge\u2019s ongoing construction.<\/p>\n<p>Ciaran McNamee, Depot manager at Ainscough\u2019s Falkirk Depot, commented: \u201cThe Queensferry Crossing has been a remarkable job to be involved with.
