The firm is buying mainly JCB<\/a> Loadall telescopic handlers<\/a> and a smaller number of rough terrain forklift trucks as it ramps up its fleet with the most technologically advanced machines on the market. \u00a0Watling JCB<\/a> has been chosen to supply 700 machines worth more than \u00a340 million from one of the UK’s biggest plant hire companies<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

JCB UK and Ireland Sales Director Dan Thompstone said: \u201cThis is a massive deal and with the bulk of the order for JCB Loadall telehandlers, it represents the biggest deal this year for that product anywhere in the world.\u201d \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ardent Hire Solutions<\/a> was formed\u00a0last year from the merger\u00a0of Fork Rent and One Call Hire and operates<\/span>\u00a0from 12 depots nationwide and provides over 5,000 units for rent.<\/span><\/p>\n

It fleet holding on\u00a0average age is\u00a0less than two years and\u00a0worth \u00a3150m.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tom Gleeson, Ardent commercial director, said: \u201cArdent Hire Solutions is increasing its share of the UK hire market and we intend building on that position by investing in the best equipment on offer.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur purchase of JCB machines is our largest investment so far this year.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The largest part of the order placed with JCB Watling is for Loadall telescopic handlers which are manufactured at JCB\u2019s World HQ in Rocester, Staffordshire.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Construction Enquirer<\/a> reports the deal includes a large number of the flagship JCB 540-200<\/a> models\u00a0giving it the\u00a0largest fleet of machines\u00a0capable of lifting to 20 metres with all-terrain capability, offering a highly efficient alternative to a mobile crane.<\/span><\/p>\n

The rough terrain forklift trucks are manufactured at JCB Compact Products in Cheadle, Staffs, and are aimed at Ardent\u2019s customers working in the events\u2019 sector.<\/span><\/p>\n
