With extensive experience in the company’s research and development group, Funcannon leaves his current position as director of engineering, and\u00a0highlights his\u00a0vision to present more cutting-edge\u00a0technologies to\u00a0Komatsu\u00a0customers.<\/p>\n

“Komatsu\u00a0will press forward with leading technologies like autonomous trucks and innovative mine optimization tools that can help our customers be more efficient now and prepare them for the future,\u201d he promises. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to showing our customers how a trusted partner like\u00a0Komatsu\u00a0can add value with services and solutions that help their operations succeed.”<\/p>\n

In his new\u00a0role, Funcannon will be responsible for the sales and support of Komatsu mining products in North America, as well as Komatsu\u2019s 200-ton and larger mining trucks globally. Having\u00a0joined Komatsu in 1994 as a design engineer, he held successive roles within the research and development organization before moving on to\u00a0director of\u00a0engineering for large mining trucks.<\/p>\n

Funcannon\u00a0has overseen R&D for\u00a0new products including AC drive-haul trucks, autonomous technology<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0large mining trucks, and mining-truck innovations that improve safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.<\/p>\n
