Tried-and-true, state-of-the-art technology \u2013 MSG Krandienst GmbH <\/a>expects no more and no less from its cranes. This is why the Kehl-based company recently decided to acquire a Demag<\/a> AC 700-9<\/a> all-terrain crane: \u201cAlthough these cranes have been in production for a while now, they really are at the cutting edge of technology.They combine sophisticated and reliable engineering with a variety of technical advantages,\u201d says General Manager Alfred Jatz when explaining the purchase decision.<\/p>\n

These advantages include, for instance, a long boom that makes the AC 700-9 perfect for a broad range of applications, as well as short setup and disassembly times that benefit from the fact that the crane is self-rigging to a large extent. \u201cIn many cases, this eliminates the need for an assist crane and the costs associated with that,\u201d explains Company Officer Bj\u00f6rn Jatz, who picked up the AC 700-9 in Zweibr\u00fccken together with the company\u2019s general manager, a crane operator, and several employees. The crane was handed over by Sales Manager Michael Zieger, Senior Manager of Germany Sales Matthias Mayer, Location Manager Klaus Beulker, and VP of EMEAR Sales & Customer Support Carsten von der Geest.<\/p>\n

When ordering the Demag AC 700-9, MSG decided on the full equipment package, which among other options comes with a central jack leg: \u201cSince we\u2019ll be using this powerful crane primarily for heavy-load lifts involved in port handling operations and industrial projects, the central jack leg will be indispensable, as it will ensure that the crane will have the maximum level of stability possible,\u201d explains Alfred Jatz. In fact, the crane already needed its central jack leg for its first project, in which it was used to lift a lock gate near Strasbourg.<\/p>\n

MSG has since paid a second visit to Zweibr\u00fccken to receive another Demag crane: a new AC 500-8 all terrain crane, which was handed over at the beginning of August. The Kehl-based crane service provider also found this model to be absolutely compelling: \u201cWith its carrier length of 17.15 meters, the AC 500-8<\/a> is the most compact 8-axle crane of its class, and yet it features an enormous system length of up to 154.8 meters.\u201d<\/p>\n

When it comes to its 12-tonne axle load version, the AC 500-8 is the only crane of its class in which the basic machine is self-rigging. An assist crane is not needed for setup, which is a crucial advantage in an industry that constantly requires cost reductions due to pricing pressure. In fact, Bj\u00f6rn Jatz says that this critical advantage was the main reason for the company\u2019s purchase decision.<\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that the company is happy that the cranes from Zweibr\u00fccken are bearing the Demag name again. \u201cThe Demag brand stands for top-of-the-line quality, and we all have fond memories of it. That is why it is great news that the products from Zweibr\u00fccken are now continuing with the tradition\u201d.<\/p>\n
