The new Terex<\/a> Load Alert\u2122 system option for Hi-Ranger\u2122\u00a0aerial devices, on select units only, will supplement utility crews\u2019 current safe work practices.\u00a0When used in conjunction with an aerial device\u2019s material handling load chart, the Terex Load\u00a0Alert system provides both visible and audible alarms to notify operators and the ground crew if a\u00a0platform or jib capacity has been exceeded.<\/p>\n

Terex developed the new Load Alert system in response to market demand for new technology\u00a0solutions as an operator aid for crews in the field. It is designed to monitor and analyze the truck\u2019s\u00a0jib and basket capacity, the winch line load, the winch line\u2019s distance from the platform\u2019s pivot\u00a0point and boom positions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis load-sensing technology is the first-of-its-kind for insulated utility aerial devices. Based on\u00a0the capacity of the truck and application, the Terex Load Alert system monitors the conditions and\u00a0if it detects an overload condition, visual and audible alarms are activated at the boom tip to alert\u00a0the operator, as well as on the ground to alert crews,\u201d said Terex Utilities Director of Marketing,\u00a0Joe Caywood.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to Caywood, customers can also opt to receive wireless notifications via text or email,\u00a0so that supervisors and fleet directors have the ability to manage their equipment. It\u2019s important to\u00a0note, Caywood says, that the operator must always stay within the operating limits of the loadchart or platform capacity decal, even with a Terex Load Alert system installed on the aerial\u00a0device.<\/p>\n
