Go to the top floor of the U.S. Bank building and you can really see how two major projects under construction by <a class=\"saveLink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/profiles\/company\/us\/wi\/milwaukee\/northwestern_mutual_foundation\/3320969\">Northwestern Mutual<\/a> will dramatically change the look of the city&#8217;s central business district.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content__segment\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/milwaukee\/news\/2016\/04\/12\/an-aerial-view-of-downtown-milwaukees-changing.html#g1\">Slide Show Pictures here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<aside id=\"module1Mbox\" class=\"inset inset--major hidden--print\">\n<div class=\"module module--ruled\">\n<div class=\"module__header module__header--ruled\">\n<div class=\"pull-right\">\u00a0Check out the attached slideshow to get an aerial view of the $450 million corporate headquarters being built by Northwestern Mutual, along with the site preparation work underway for an adjacent $100 million mixed-used project.<\/div>\n<div class=\"pull-right\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"pull-right\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"pull-right\">I have watched closely as Northwestern Mutual&#8217;s 32-story corporate headquarters rises into the sky, but you can really see the building from the 40th-floor offices of Foley &amp; Lardner LLP in the U.S. Bank building, 777 E. Wisconsin Ave. I happened to be at Foley&#8217;s office on Monday for a meeting and was frequently distracted by the dramatic views of the high-rise being built.<\/div>\n<div class=\"pull-right\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"pull-right\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"pull-right\">The Northwestern Mutual project employs hundreds of workers and is set to be completed by the end of 2017. From Foley&#8217;s office, you can see many of them working on the top floors of the building.<\/div>\n<div class=\"pull-right\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"pull-right\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"pull-right\">Nearby, the company has started to clear most of the block at North Van Buren and East Mason streets for its parking structure and apartment tower project. The 34-story project includes 1,400 parking stalls to serve the company\u2019s growing downtown workforce, topped by 322 apartments. There also will be first-floor retail space.<\/div>\n<div class=\"pull-right\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"pull-right\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"pull-right\">I drive by this site everyday on the way to work, but because the property is fenced in, you can only see the progress being made in clearing the site from above. \u00a0The city&#8217;s skyline changes are being noticed.
