{"id":3295,"date":"2016-05-23T17:13:18","date_gmt":"2016-05-23T17:13:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/minutes.machine.market\/?p=3295"},"modified":"2016-05-23T17:13:18","modified_gmt":"2016-05-23T17:13:18","slug":"3295-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/3295-2\/","title":{"rendered":"$2.6 Billion Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm: a major EPCI Contract award for Seaway Heavy Lifting &#038; Subsea 7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.subsea7.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Subsea 7 S.A.<\/a> \u00a0today announced the details of the major\u00a0<strong>(1)<\/strong> contract award that was first announced on 20 \u00a0May 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The contract was awarded by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/sse.com\/whatwedo\/ourprojectsandassets\/renewables\/Beatrice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Limited<\/a> <strong>(2),<\/strong> for the \u00a0engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the Beatrice wind farm turbine foundations and array cables, offshore Scotland, UK.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/sse.com\/media\/399027\/beatrice_may2016_forweb.jpg\" alt=\"Beatrice_May2016_ForWeb\" width=\"1000\" height=\"582\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Located in the Outer Moray Firth, the Beatrice wind turbines will generate 588 Megawatts of power once the wind farm becomes fully operational in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Subsea 7, in alliance with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seawayheavylifting.com.cy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Seaway Heavy Lifting<\/a>\u00a0<strong>(3)<\/strong>, will project manage, design, engineer, fabricate and install EPCI jacket foundations and array cables for 84 wind turbines, and perform the transportation and installation of the offshore transmission modules.<\/p>\n<p>Project management and engineering has already started at Seaway Heavy Lifting&#8217;s offices in Glasgow, Scotland, and Zoetermeer, the Netherlands, and at Subsea 7&#8217;s office in Aberdeen, Scotland. Offshore installation activities will be executed in 2017 and 2018 using Seaway Heavy Lifting&#8217;s heavy-lift vessels, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seawayheavylifting.com.cy\/vessels\/stanislav-yudin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stanislav Yudin <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seawayheavylifting.com.cy\/vessels\/oleg-strashnov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oleg Strashnov<\/a>. Both these vessels provide significant lift and installation capabilities ideally suited for the challenges of installing wind farm foundations.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Jean Cahuzac, Subsea 7 Chief Executive Officer, said: &#8220;This offshore wind farm project is our largest North Sea award to date. Subsea 7 and Seaway Heavy Lifting have a strong reputation in their respective areas of expertise.
