{"id":3282,"date":"2016-05-23T15:19:28","date_gmt":"2016-05-23T15:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/minutes.machine.market\/?p=3282"},"modified":"2016-05-23T15:19:28","modified_gmt":"2016-05-23T15:19:28","slug":"kubota-enters-into-pact-to-buy-great-plains-manufacturing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/kubota-enters-into-pact-to-buy-great-plains-manufacturing\/","title":{"rendered":"Kubota enters into pact to buy Great Plains Manufacturing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hpj.com\/biz_page\/kubota-enters-into-pact-to-buy-great-plains-manufacturing\/article_7498a246-ec9f-5fb4-aaa5-f8111cd7afd0.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">High Plains\/Midwest Ag Journal<\/a> reports\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kubota-global.net\/products\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kubota Corporation<\/a>, Osaka, Japan, parent company to Kubota U.S.A., Inc. of Torrance, California, announced it has entered into an agreement to purchase <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greatplainsmfg.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc.<\/a>, based in Salina, Kansas, according to a news release issued by the companies.<\/p>\n<p>Once final, the purchase will expand the company\u2019s long-time partnership with Land Pride and will include all five Great Plains divisions with multiple facilities in Kansas and a manufacturing plant in Sleaford, England. A sales price was not announced.<\/p>\n<div class=\"p402_hide no-images no-quotes no-pagination view-standard\">\u00a0Since 2007, Kubota has worked closely with Land Pride to provide quality, performance-matched implements to Kubota dealers and customers across the United States and Canada.<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis acquisition aligns with our long-term strategic vision to continue our market expansion and provide high-quality products and comprehensive solutions for our customers,\u201d said Masato Yoshikawa, president and CEO of Kubota Tractor Corp. \u201cGreat Plains and Kubota share a common set of values in that we both were founded four decades ago on a reputation for quality, innovation and engineering excellence. We believe these synergies will continue to add value for our dealers and our customers for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For the foreseeable future, all five Great Plains divisions will continue to operate as they have been with their infrastructure intact, the news release stated.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOnce final, this acquisition is going to lead to great advancements for both businesses without being a significant change for our people,\u201d according to Todd Stucke, senior vice president of sales, marketing and product support for Kubota. \u201cWe intend to respect the distinctiveness of the brands, trademarks and operational strengths. Doing so will allow employees, dealers and customers to do business with the same great companies they have come to know and trust.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Roy Applequist, Great Plains\u2019 founder and chairman will remain on the leadership team to help guide the operations and facilitate a seamless transition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy plan is to play a significant role in helping Great Plains become a vital part of the Kubota family,\u201d Applequist said. \u201cGreat Plains\u2019 leadership position in the agricultural implement business has been earned by striving to do our best in satisfying our customers\u2019 needs, and we are confident that teaming up with Kubota will allow us to continue to uphold this tradition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Partnering with Applequist in overseeing and managing the transition is Linda Salem, president of Great Plains Manufacturing. \u201cI\u2019ve worked alongside Roy for 26 years, and I intend to carry forward the entrepreneurial and successful legacy that he has created at Great Plains,\u201d Salem stated. \u201cI\u2019ve also worked collaboratively with Kubota for over 10 years, which has allowed us to create a foundation for a strong working relationship that we will continue to build as we move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The partnership further builds on Kubota\u2019s presence in Kansas where the company recently announced the establishment of its North American Distribution Center in Edgerton, Kansas, which serves as the primary distribution hub for Kubota parts and whole goods distribution across the U.S. and Canada.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The High Plains\/Midwest Ag Journal reports\u00a0Kubota Corporation, Osaka, Japan, parent company to Kubota U.S.A., Inc. of Torrance, California, announced it has entered into an agreement to purchase Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc., based in Salina, Kansas, according to a news release issued by the companies.
