Nonsmoker preferred.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tR-0vkcN6n0<\/p>\n<p>The maker of this robot that uncaps and refills gas tanks on gargantuan mining\u00a0dump trucks, <a class=\"body-el-link standard-body-el-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.machineryautomation.com.au\/about-us\/\">Scott Automation and Robotics<\/a>, out of Australia,\u00a0touts its efficiency\u00a0(less spillage) and safety (no one\u00a0handling combustibles in harsh environments underneath giant trucks).\u00a0A thriving mine is the one\u00a0with fewer people on site suffering fewer accidents and\u00a0making fewer mistakes. The next time you don&#8217;t hear about a 22-year-old from Perth, AU tragically wandering behind the\u00a0wheels of an earth-moving machine, thank a robot.<\/p>\n<p>Typically, traditional fuel tanks are manned by at least one person at all times and trucks can spend up to one hour per day travelling to refuel in isolated areas away from the pit.<\/p>\n<p>As there is no manning required for Robofuel\u00a0automated refuelling solution, refuelling stations are able to be placed \u201con the circuit\u201d or even \u201cin-pit\u201d so trucks can significantly reduce the amount of time dedicated to and from fuel stations each day.<\/p>\n<p>Scott Automation &amp; Robotics\u00a0Robofuel\u00a0system uses a state-of-the-art vision sensing and detection system which allows the robot to locate the position and orientation of the truck\u2019s fuel tank. This information is used to couple the fuel nozzle with the tank.
