{"id":2601,"date":"2016-05-11T13:17:54","date_gmt":"2016-05-11T13:17:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/minutes.machine.market\/?p=2601"},"modified":"2016-05-11T13:17:54","modified_gmt":"2016-05-11T13:17:54","slug":"peoria-il-marine-construction-services-business-midwest-foundation-is-sold","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/peoria-il-marine-construction-services-business-midwest-foundation-is-sold\/","title":{"rendered":"Peoria, IL marine construction services business Midwest Foundation is sold"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A St. Louis-based construction company has acquired a Peoria marine construction services business and will maintain the local operations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.byrneandjones.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Byrne &amp; Jones Construction<\/a> announced the acquisition of <a href=\"http:\/\/midwestfoundation.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Midwest Foundation<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1969, Midwest Foundation installs piling foundations and assists with bridge demolition, construction and repair.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMidwest Foundation was a good match for us,\u201d said Brian Goggins, president of Byrne &amp; Jones Construction. \u201cWe\u2019ve both long focused on understanding our customer needs and being problem solvers. The acquisition gives Byrne &amp; Jones a specialty niche in marine work that will help us grow our business.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The St. Louis company is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and is that city\u2019s largest commercial paving contractor. It has six divisions \u2014 concrete, sports, asphalt, soil stabilization, marine and micro surfacing.<\/p>\n<p>The Midwest Foundation operation will remain in Peoria, where it employs seven people in the office and up to 50 people in the field, depending on work volume.
