Burke filed a lawsuit March 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bp.com\/en_na\/gas\/north-america.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BP Products North America Inc.<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.novaspect.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Novaspect Mechanical Services LLC<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jacobs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jacobs Engineering Group Inc.<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/imperialcrane.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Imperial Crane Services Inc.<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acmsgroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ACMS Group Inc. <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.solidplatforms.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Solid Platforms Inc.<\/a>, alleging negligence and failing to provide a reasonable safe place to work for workers to prevent injuries at the Whiting facility.<\/p>\n<div class=\"story-content\">According to the complaint, on Dec. 7, 2015, Burke suffered severe pain when an actuator crushed his foot at the water filtration plant in Whiting, leading to permanent injuries. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to reasonably inspect its premises and supervise work being done to prevent injuries to any individual.\u00a0Burke requests a trial by jury and damages in excess of the court&#8217;s jurisdictional limits, plus costs of the suit.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CHICAGO \u2014 An employee is suing a group of companies, alleging negligence led to him being injured.
