PwC<\/a>, a professional services company, has opened its first global center of excellence, named Drone Powered Solutions<\/a>, to focus on the use of drone technology and data analysis in business.<\/p>\n

According to the company, commercializing drone usage in sectors from construction to insurance could lead to the disruption of $125 billion in traditional industries.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/strong>The breadth of potential applications is so huge,\u201d said Micha\u0142 Mazur, partner at PwC\u2019s drone-powered solutions division.\u00a0 \u201cMonitoring infrastructure, managing construction sites, insurance assessments, structural checks. It is all about connecting drone abilities and attributes with business needs,\u201d Mazur said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The center is located in Poland, because the country is the first in the world to introduce a complete legal framework and institutions regulating the commercial use of drones.<\/p>\n

Olga Grygier-Siddons, chief executive of PwC in Central and Eastern Europe, said, \u201cI am very proud that we have developed a global center of excellence right here in Central and Eastern Europe that uses drones and geospatial data analysis to help clients. This is the first PwC team of its kind anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor a long time, business success in our region has been based on cost competitiveness, but now there is a real desire on the part of our clients and colleagues to instead compete on value, created through innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The application of drone technologies in existing business processes is allowing companies from those industries to create new business and operating models.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According PwC’s study on the commercial applications of drone technology, the emerging global market for business services using drones is valued at over $127 bn.<\/a><\/p>\n

This is the value of current business services and labor that are likely to be replaced in the very near future by drone powered solutions, according to PwC predictions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
