{"id":2062,"date":"2016-05-03T18:29:11","date_gmt":"2016-05-03T18:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/minutes.machine.market\/?p=2062"},"modified":"2016-05-03T18:29:11","modified_gmt":"2016-05-03T18:29:11","slug":"uk-peel-ports-receives-second-ship-to-shore-crane-order-from-zpmc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/uk-peel-ports-receives-second-ship-to-shore-crane-order-from-zpmc\/","title":{"rendered":"UK Peel Ports receives second ship to shore crane order from ZPMC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Produced by leading Chinese manufacturer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zpmc.com\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ZPMC<\/a>, which also supplied the five ship-to-shore cranes already on site, these six are the first of 12 required for phase one of the terminal.<\/p>\n<p>The site will have eight STS and 22 CRMG cranes as part of a more than US$145 million investment.<\/p>\n<p>The cranes will be capable of performing an average of 20 moves per hour, with semi-automated control linked to the port\u2019s new Navis N4 terminal operating system.<\/p>\n<p>They have a 40 tonne under-spreader capacity and a maximum container lift height above quay level of 21 metres under spreader (6+1 containers).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Mark Whitworth, CEO\u00a0of Peel Ports, said: \u201cThe arrival of this first consignment is yet another important milestone as we approach the opening. Along with the STS cranes, the CRMGs are a very visible sign of the investment we are making at the port, adding capacity and efficiency to a key trade gateway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLiverpool2, supported by our wider logistics offering and the port\u2019s strategic location, will provide many shippers with a route to UK and Irish markets that helps them to cut costs, congestion and carbon emissions.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Liverpool2 is to have a phased opening, with marine trials due to begin shortly and other elements of the semi-automated terminal coming online throughout Q2 of 2016.
