Hitachi Construction Machinery (Malaysia) Sarawak made history yesterday by delivering three units of new Hitachi EH1100-5<\/a> to the proud owner, Global Minerals (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd.<\/p>\n

Towering more than four metres high and weighing 45.5 tonnes (nominal payload 63.5 tonnes and target gross machine operating weight of 109 tonnes), the Hitachi EH1100-5 dump truck is one of the biggest suitable for mining operations in Malaysia (it is the smallest in Hitachi range of dump trucks).<\/p>\n

The three units are the Hitachi\u2019s first order in Sarawak and Malaysia.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe bought them because they are proper and actual mining equipment. It will be more lasting, durable and good match with our 120-tonne excavator and machine, apart from improving productivity and efficiency,\u201d said Pan Global Berhad executive chairman Richard Wong.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He added that Hitachi was internationally well-known, thus had reliability.<\/p>\n

He said the company chose Hitachi since it (Hitachi) was trying to introduce the machinery to Malaysia and had approached them (Pan Global).<\/p>\n

Pan Global is a holding company while Global Minerals is a subsidiary company. The company started exploration in 1985 and went into production in 1988.<\/p>\n

Hitachi Construction Machinery Asia and Pacific Pte Ltd managing director Shunya Hashimoto and HCMM managing director Toki Tomoatsu were also present at the official handing-over ceremony.<\/p>\n

The EH1100-5 features several advanced technological features to satisfy the requirements of Hitachi\u2019s mining customers. The dump truck has been designed to offer a safer operating environment and exceptional level of comfort, easier access for service and maintenance and higher levels of productivity.<\/p>\n

It uses advanced technology like a refined active traction control system for greater control of wheel spin in wet and muddy conditions; optimum shift range transmission to automatically alter the transmission range according to payload results provided by an on-board payload weighing system. It is also equipped with a data logging unit to allow remote monitoring of the truck via satellite, wifi and Wenco.<\/p>\n
