In addition, this software can notify both the site manager and the supplier electronically in the event of high wind speeds. \u00a0Engineers from BAM Ireland recently traveled to Germany to be trained on the new technology.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Commenting on the acquisition, BAM Ireland Plant Manager Tommy Flaherty said: \u201cThis purchase meets a vital need for BAM. \u00a0We have seen a real upswing in our construction activity recently and resurgence in areas such as commercial office building activity. These cranes will be going to sites across the country immediately, as BAM moves ahead with works on the corner of Molesworth Street and Dawson Street for Green REIT, the Capital Cinema in Cork for JCD, and the Court Building in Waterford City, which is part of the Courts Public Private Partnership project.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The tower cranes have a 70 metre reach and can operate at a height in excess of 125 metres, with the capacity to lift 3.2 tonnes at maximum reach. The cranes, which run on 100% green electricity are also representative of BAM\u2019s commitment to sustainability, which has seen the company named on the \u201cA List\u201d of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Climate Performance Leadership Index.<\/p>\n<p><strong>John O\u2019Sullivan, Director, BAM Ireland<\/strong> noted: \u201cIt will not have escaped many people\u2019s notice that cranes are beginning to appear on our skylines again. \u00a0To accommodate this increased activity, we continue to take steps to ensure that emissions are reduced and resources are correctly managed, and that\u2019s reflected in our decision to invest in green energy cranes\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duncan Salt, COO HTC Wolffkran UK and Ireland<\/strong>, was on hand to inspect the installation.
