{"id":13689,"date":"2019-05-16T18:42:21","date_gmt":"2019-05-16T18:42:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cranemarket.com\/blog\/?p=13689"},"modified":"2019-05-16T18:44:38","modified_gmt":"2019-05-16T18:44:38","slug":"liftwerx-launches-green-up-wind-tower-crane","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/liftwerx-launches-green-up-wind-tower-crane\/","title":{"rendered":"Liftwerx launches the GenHook model green up wind tower crane"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cranemarket.com\/specs\/liftwerx\">LiftWerx<\/a> has launched a <a href=\"https:\/\/cranemarket.com\/specs\/cranes---material-handlers\/wind-tower-cranes\">wind tower crane<\/a> for carrying out wind turbine operations and maintenance (O&amp;M), which is powered by wind energy.<\/p>\n<p>The company developed the <a href=\"https:\/\/cranemarket.com\/specification-34773\">GenHook<\/a> kit in cooperation with Kenz Figee and Eager One, which designed to perform corrective repairs in wind turbine nacelles.<\/p>\n<p>LiftWerx successfully executed its first gearbox replacement with its first GenHook crane on a GE 1.6-100 wind turbine in Michigan, US.<\/p>\n<p>GenHook is equipped with fully electric winches which can lift and exchange gearboxes, blades, and generators with extreme accuracy, while working in wind speeds up to 18 meters per second.<\/p>\n<p>Liftwerx president Glen Aitken said: \u201cIt is our strategy for our new GenHook cranes to reduce downtime, costs, and disruption compared to using traditional cranes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the best part is that these zero-emission cranes are completely green. They are powered by the wind turbine itself, and unlike traditional cranes, they do not generate any carbon dioxide emissions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kenz Figee chief executive Jan-Pieter Klaver said: \u201cThe delivery of the first GenHook up-tower cranes to LiftWerx, which are rated at a lifting capacity of 27 tonnes, has marked a new era for Kenz Figee to enter the rapidly-growing renewable energy market.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LiftWerx has launched a wind tower crane for carrying out wind turbine operations and maintenance (O&amp;M), which is powered by wind energy.
