Company owners, husband-and-wife team Chris and Cathy Kolodziej, bought the 150 t unit to replace an older 100 t-rated <a href=\"https:\/\/crane.market\/search\/grove\/gmk4100l\">GMK4100L<\/a>, which was purchased back in 2011.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12726 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cranemarket.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Cranes-Combined-Tasmania.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"303\" height=\"38\" srcset=\"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Cranes-Combined-Tasmania.png 303w, https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Cranes-Combined-Tasmania-300x38.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 303px) 100vw, 303px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The GMK5150L is not only an upgrade in capacity but as the lightest five-axle crane in the 130 t \u2013 150 t class it is also easier to configure for travel, making it ideal for Australia and its notoriously-strict road regulations. Dispatching the crane is easier and faster for Cranes Combined, which serves clients across the state of Tasmania.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Cranes Combined bought a GMK5150L all-terrain crane as a bigger and newer replacement for its GMK4100L.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>As the lightest five-axle crane in the 130 t \u2013 150 t class, the GMK5150L adheres better to Australia\u2019s strict road regulations.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s always a challenge to configure a mobile crane to meet local road regulations and in some cases we\u2019ve been unable to send a crane to certain projects because of road restrictions,\u201d said Chris Kolodziej. \u201cBut this new GMK5150L is a totally new design. It\u2019s very light: the weight can be reduced to under 50,000 kg, which enables it to have much better road access than anything we\u2019ve previously owned. In the end it was an easy decision to upgrade. The GMK5150L is not only easier to move but because it has greater capacity we can use it on a wider range of jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>John Stewart, vice president and general manager for Manitowoc in Australia, said the design of the GMK5150L is focused on enabling easier road travel, particularly in markets such as Australia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrove all-terrain cranes deliver light axle weights combined with extremely strong load charts and long booms,\u201d he said. \u201cThey also offer superior mobility through the unique Megatrak drivetrain.
