These web-based modules provide utility fleet professionals with proactive driver training, including mitigating the risk of driving infractions or collisions before they occur, which enables participants to learn safe driving techniques of Terex<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> aerial devices, digger derricks and auger drills at each individual\u2019s own pace, when it is convenient for them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Terex Driver Safety Training was developed to help utility truck drivers better understand how to proactively prevent collisions,\u201d says Jason Julius, technical support and training development, Terex Utilities, \u201cas well as monitor and assess others\u2019 driving behaviors, reduce emissions and manage incidents, if they do occur. Each training module takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete, and participants can start and stop their training as necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 13 Driver Safety Training courses offered by Terex include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Avoiding Animals and Debris<\/li>\n<li>Avoiding Crashes<\/li>\n<li>Changing Lanes<\/li>\n<li>Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration<\/li>\n<li>DOT Vehicle Inspections<\/li>\n<li>Driving and Adverse Weather<\/li>\n<li>Highway Driving<\/li>\n<li>Intersections and Right-of-Way<\/li>\n<li>Limited Visibility Conditions<\/li>\n<li>Proactive Driving<\/li>\n<li>Sharing the Road with Others<\/li>\n<li>Speed Management<\/li>\n<li>Vehicle Backing Safety<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>The modules engage drivers through a variety of interactive exercises and activities to improve the learning experience. At the end of each module, drivers are tested for comprehension, and when they pass, they will be presented with a certificate of completion.<\/p>\n<p>Work-related motor vehicle crashes are one of the leading causes of workplace fatalities, and crashes cost North American employers billions of dollars each year.
