He spoke during a meeting of the\u00a0Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chron.com\/business\/article\/Towering-cranes-arrive-in-Houston-after-3-months-12300481.php#photo-14406468\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Houston Chronicle<\/a> the Port Houston facilities, overall, handled 28.8 million tons of cargo year to date, a 9 percent increase over the first three quarters of 2016, according to a news release.
