<\/p>\nToyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA) has announced the introduction\u00a0of a range of Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) forklifts that will begin arriving\u00a0in August this year.

Toyota’s range of BT-branded AGV forklifts<\/a> contain its unique Autopilot\u00a0technology that provides reliable and accurate driverless operation for\u00a0transporting, stacking or picking. The Autopilot system can function\u00a0independently and alongside manually operated equipment.<\/p>\n For added flexibility the Autopilot-equipped forklifts can also be operated\u00a0manually if required.<\/p>\n TMHA national sales and product manager – automation Tony Raggio said one of\u00a0the advantages of Toyota’s AGV range is its similarity with the existing range\u00a0of BT pallet trucks, order pickers and reach forklifts.<\/p>\n “Our AGV-enabled forklifts are essentially the same as their existing\u00a0manual counterparts, with the only difference being the addition of Toyota’s “This means operators can enjoy all the reliability, safety and durability\u00a0benefits expected of Toyota forklifts with the added benefits of automation – The key advantages of AGV forklifts include increased safety with a reduced\u00a0risk of accidents, smooth workflow and greater reliability, and improved\u00a0efficiency.<\/p>\n “We envisage the AGV forklift range making real productivity improvements\u00a0in busy warehouse, storage or production environments where repetitive\u00a0movements are common,” Mr Raggio said.<\/p>\n “Another advantage is that, as a Toyota-backed product we offer full\u00a0nationwide back-up and support services – the same as for any other forklift or\u00a0other item of material handling equipment.<\/p>\n “AGV customers in Europe are reporting significant increases in\u00a0productivity as soon as they take up the technology, and we expect the ROI for\u00a0the AGV forklifts to be between 12 and 36 months,” Mr Raggio said.<\/p>\n For further information on the range of Toyota BT AGV forklifts\u00a0contact Tony Raggio on 0427 157 698 or traggio@tmha.com.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n
