Those in the\u00a0tree care industry<\/a>\u00a0already love the Urban Forestry Unit because of its size and weight and now it\u2019s getting even lighter. The overall weight of the truck will decrease by around 1,000 pounds with the addition of the new aluminum chipper box.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Urban Forestry Unit\u00a0<\/a>is an ideal choice for anyone in the tree care industry because it is the only Class 5 bucket truck with a chipper box that is able to reach up to 50 feet. The lift, previously only available with a steel box, is now available with an aluminum chipper box making the overall weight of the truck just over 15,500 pounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe lighter weight means less damage to yards and property making this an ideal solution for those in the urban forestry industry,\u201d said Loren Top, Dur-A-Lift’s national sales manager.<\/p>\n

The Urban Forestry unit features a seven cubic yard capacity box that can haul wood chips from the worksite. The chipper box, with hydraulic cylinder lift, allows for easy dumping. The basket rotates 180 degrees and includes a four axis single hand joystick at the upper control. You can access the basket from ground level so there is no need to store the basket on top of the cab protector until its time to move to the next work site.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere has been a lot of interest in the Urban Forestry Unit since its initial release in 2015. The new lighter body is sure to make this an ideal addition to anyone’s tree care fleet\u201d said Top.<\/p>\n

The new aluminum box from\u00a0Voth Truck body<\/a>\u00a0is now available as an option on all new Urban Forestry Units.<\/p>\n

Dur-A-Lift manufactures two\u00a0tree care lifts<\/a>. In addition to the Urban Forestry Unit, Dur-A-Lift also makes the larger\u00a0DAT3<\/a>\u00a0unit that features a reach up to 75\u2019. The DAT3,\u00a0formerly known as the MAT-3<\/a>, was introduced into the Dur-A-Lift family last fall.<\/p>\n
