{"id":11993,"date":"2017-09-24T16:44:46","date_gmt":"2017-09-24T16:44:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/minutes.machine.market\/?p=11993"},"modified":"2017-09-24T16:44:46","modified_gmt":"2017-09-24T16:44:46","slug":"dfw-still-tops-nation-in-tower-cranes-with-an-estimated-105-in-the-skyline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/dfw-still-tops-nation-in-tower-cranes-with-an-estimated-105-in-the-skyline\/","title":{"rendered":"DFW still Tops Nation in Tower Cranes with an estimated 105 in the skyline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dallas-Fort Worth is growing \u2013 the population, the jobs, the skylines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"2\">And it is the skylines that are increasingly home to a sight that is visible in North Texas more so than anywhere else in the country \ufffd\ufffd the tower crane.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"3\">As of this week there are an estimated 105 tower cranes up and operating in DFW, according to industry sources, which is the most of any metro area in the United States.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"4\">In\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/local\/DFW-Leads-Country-in-Tower-Cranes-412251193.html\">January<\/a>, the number of tower cranes \u2013 the tall, \u2018T-shaped\u2019 cranes that allow for the efficient lifting and maneuvering of heavy materials around a construction site \u2013 in Dallas-Fort Worth was believed to have been 87<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"5\">&#8220;This is one of the strongest areas in the entire United States for construction,&#8221; said Reno Russell, who oversees the sale and leasing of tower cranes all across the southwest for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bigge.com\/\">Bigge Crane and Rigging<\/a>, the largest provider of cranes in the country. &#8220;There&#8217;s a tremendous amount of growth and it really is a sign of good economic times.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"6\">As of July, the individual city with the most tower cranes working was Seattle, with 58, according to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/assets.rlb.com\/production\/2017\/07\/31161816\/July-2017-Crane-Index.pdf\">Rider Levett Bucknall North American Crane Index<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"7\">According to Reno Russell of Bigge Crane, the tower cranes are in such high demand in DFW that there are not enough to go around.
