The new district, named \u201cDas D\u00d6RNBERG,\u201d is only miles from Regenburg\u2019s historic old town, which has been a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage since 2006.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The cranes are currently working on the first construction phase, in which they are transforming a 250,000 m<sup>2\u00a0<\/sup>railway area. One self-erecting crane and 12 top-slewing cranes, with load capacities up to 10 t and jib radii up to 65 m, are working at the site. The cranes include a Potain GTMR 386, six MDT 218s, one MDT 192, three MDT 178s, one MDT 162 and one MD 120.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>13 Potain tower cranes, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/machine.market\/specs\/potain\/gtmr-386-b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Potain GTMR 386 B<\/a>, six <a href=\"https:\/\/machine.market\/search\/potain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MDT 218<\/a>s, one <a href=\"https:\/\/machine.market\/specs\/potain\/mdt-192-h12\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MDT 192 H12<\/a>, three <a href=\"https:\/\/machine.market\/specs\/potain\/mdt-178\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MDT 178<\/a>s, one <a href=\"https:\/\/machine.market\/specs\/potain\/mdt-162-h8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MDT 162 H8<\/a>\u00a0and one <a href=\"https:\/\/files.machine.market\/specs\/potain-city-crane-md-120-a-cranes-telehandlers-material-handlers(1).pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MD 120 A<\/a> are working on the large-scale construction project.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The topless cranes were chosen for their ability to work close to one another, and for their simple and quick assembly.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Due to the job site\u2019s tight quarters, the cranes are working extremely closely with each other. Plattling-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moser-baumaschinen.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moser Baumaschinen<\/a>, the company handling the lifting work, chose the fleet of topless cranes to enable operators to swivel the cranes\u2019 jibs over one another and lift in conjunction. Also, the company chose the cranes for their simple and quick assembly, which reduces setup time and therefore keep construction costs low.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11722 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cranemarket.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Moser-Baumaschinen.gif\" alt=\"Moser Baumaschinen\" width=\"161\" height=\"55\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.moser-baumaschinen.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moser Baumaschinen<\/a> provided the cranes to several contractors that are all handling lifting work on the project: Neumarkt-based Max B\u00f6gl; Wermelskirchen-based August Schmidt; and a consortium that consists of Regensburg-based Guggenberger Bau and Dietlikon, Switzerland-based Implenia Hochbau.<\/p>\n<p>Mario Moser, one of the managing directors of Moser Baumaschinen, explained the choice in cranes:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have been a Potain partner for many years, and through our relationship with such an innovative crane manufacturer, we are able to supply large construction sites with our rental cranes. The Potain top-slewing cranes, in particular, are quick to assemble, powerful and have very little downtime,\u201d he said. &#8220;It was our large range of topless cranes, including the MDT 218, that helped us win the D\u00f6rnberg contract.
