JAXPORT says the cranes will serve Crowley\u2019s new liquefied natural gas powered vessels.<\/p>\n<p>JAXPORT says repositioning the cranes will\u00a0maximize their use\u00a0and give the biggest return for the community.<\/p>\n<p>The Florida Department of Transportation says the cranes went under the Dames Point Bridge around 4:50PM Sunday. The Florida Highway Patrol and Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office performed a rolling block to vehicle traffic around that time.<\/p>\n<p>JAXPORT says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zpmc.com\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ZPMC Crane Services<\/a>, the Coast Guard, and McAllister Towing were involved in the operation.<\/p>\n<p>The movement of these cranes comes after JAXPORT received several \u201csuper large\u201d cranes, which\u00a0started operations at Blount Island late last year\u00a0in order to allow JAXPORT to\u00a0service wider vessels.
