{"id":10980,"date":"2017-04-19T13:19:11","date_gmt":"2017-04-19T13:19:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/minutes.machine.market\/?p=10980"},"modified":"2017-04-19T13:19:11","modified_gmt":"2017-04-19T13:19:11","slug":"10980-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/machine.market\/blog\/10980-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Operator dead after crane strikes high-tension power line on Wind Project in Vermont"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Maine man was killed Tuesday after the crane he was operating struck a high-tension power line at a construction site, police said.<\/p>\n<p>David Sprague, 59, of Windham, Maine, was operating a crane on a wind turbine construction site in Searsburg around 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Vermont State Police.<\/p>\n<p>As Sprague was operating the crane near a series of high-tension power lines, the crane struck one of the lines. Police said Sprague was electrocuted and was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Sprague was working for <a href=\"https:\/\/reed-reed.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Reed &amp; Reed Inc.<\/a>, a construction company in Maine which has built a number of wind-power projects.<\/p>\n<p>Green Mountain Power responded immediately and quickly rendered the scene safe.
