A 200-ton All Terrain crane rented from Moir Crane Service<\/a> hoisted a chiller weighing 16,500 pounds to the 14th floor of the CIBC Building in Windsor, Ontario. Owners of the building, Mikhail Holdings, will spend almost $1 million for the project, which included about a dozen specialists with Johnson Controls and sub-trades. Windows and a portion of concrete wall on the 14th floor were removed for the tricky installation.<\/p>\n

When you combine the cost of the unit, renting the crane,\u00a0installation, engineering drawings, disposal of the old unit\u00a0and other details, the\u00a0total came to about $890,000, not including tax, said Mikhail.<\/p>\n

A crew of 12 worked on the installation Wednesday, including workers wearing safety harnesses who guided the unit into the 14th-floor opening. They originally planned to do the job Tuesday, but the wind direction wasn\u2019t right for the crane operation.<\/div>\n
