Company spokeswoman Vicki Granado says work commenced immediately after <span class=\"vm-hook-outer vm-hook-default\"><span class=\"vm-hook\">the company<\/span><\/span> received permission.<\/p>\n<p>The <span class=\"vm-hook-outer vm-hook-default\"><span class=\"vm-hook\">work<\/span><\/span> had been stalled for months due to opposition by the Standing Rock Sioux, but President Donald Trump last month instructed the Army Corps of Engineers to advance pipeline construction. The proposed route skirts the Standing Rock Sioux tribe\u2019s reservation and crosses under Lake Oahe, a Missouri River reservoir in North Dakota that serves as the tribe\u2019s drinking water source.<\/p>\n<p>ETP says the pipeline is safe.
