Tower crane collapses and bends in half in London

ITV reports Firefighters have cordoned off a collapsed crane that bent in half in Fitzrovia.

A spokeswoman said emergency services were called to Charlotte Street at about 12.30pm on Monday to reports of a “crane in a precarious position”.

The construction equipment was seen crashing into the top of a building on the road in the heart of Fitzrovia.

Onlookers posted pictures online which showed the collapsed crane bent double on a rooftop.
