ACCC notice calls for crane trucks to be fixed over potential brake issues
Tadano Oceania Pty Ltd has recalled a number of All Terrain Mobile Crane models over brake-related issues.
Only 7 cranes total were affected, 4 ATF40G-2, 1 ATF70G-4, 1 ATF130G-5, and 1 ATF400G-6, the “failure occurs when an air hose in the brake circuit dislodges from the fitting,” an Australian Competition & Consumer Commission notice says.
After which, “the vehicle may cease moving or there may be a decrease of the service brake performance while driving on the road.”
“If an air hose dislodges while driving, the crane will come to a stop on the road or the service brake performance will be decreased, causing a potential accident which may result in injuries to the driver or others.”
Sold in Victoria, New South Wales, and Western Australia, owners of the mobile crane models will be contacted by Tadano Oceania in order to quickly rectify the issues.
