Construction worker killed when lift overturns near Dallas, TX

A construction worker was killed Wednesday morning in Rowlett when a large JCB telehandler fork lift overturned, pinning him beneath it, police say.

The 36-year-old lift operator was unloading a tractor-trailer at an apartment construction site near Scenic Drive and Cabott Cove about 8:15 a.m. when the forklift tipped over, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reports.

A sign at the construction site indicated the project was a number of apartment buildings to be called Terra Lago.  The construction site was on the west bank of Lake Ray Hubbard near the intersection of Texas 66 and Scenic Drive.

The accident is under investigation and Authorities have not released the lift operator’s name.
