Borger Cranes began hoisting the truss at 11 am before a crowd of office and construction workers who had gathered on the opposite footpath, and most took photos with their phones.
But as lights blinked orange at the intersection with Auckland Street and the gridlock extended west to Union Street and east to Darby Street, some drivers were left angry and confused.
